A Big Weekend for Exeter

Exeter has been making a bit of a name for itself recently enjoying sporting triumphs and being the host with the most.

Following on from the 2015 Rugby World Cup putting Exeter on the map for rugby fans (three games were hosted at team ground Sandy Park), this Saturday sees the culmination of the Exeter Chiefs pounding its way through the Premiership as they meet rivals Saracens at Twickenham for the final. Their first time in the Premiership final, this is a big moment for the Chiefs.

Exeter is also the name of the moment on Radio 1 as this weekend heralds the arrival of some big name acts to Powderham Castle, where the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend festival will take place. The line-up includes Jess Glynne, Jake Bugg, Tim Odell, and Take That.

Headliners Mumford and Sons, and Exeter favourite, Coldplay, will be shown on the Radio 1 website and via the red button on BBC digital channels, with the rest of the music broadcast live on Radio 1.
